A Seeding Crew Built Around Rocky Ground and Wet Springs

Hydroseeding Providence sprays seed, mulch and erosion control on lawns, banks and building sites across Providence and the towns around Narragansett Bay. Our work runs from a single side yard in the city to acres of graded ground on a new subdivision, plus the silt fence, topsoil and fine grading that come before the seed.

The ground here sets the rules. Most of Rhode Island was shaped by glaciers, and the uplands carry soils like the Narragansett series, which the USDA describes as dark brown silt loam over very gravelly coarse sand, formed over till on plains, low ridges and hills. That means stones in every rake pass, fast drainage below the root zone and short slopes that shed water. Providence itself sits where the Woonasquatucket and Moshassuck Rivers join, and it is one of many cities said to be built on seven hills. Add about 47.5 inches of precipitation in a normal year and you have a place where bare soil does not stay put for long.

Our job is simple to describe: get grass to come up evenly on that kind of ground, and keep the soil in place until it does.

How we work

  • We look first. Every estimate starts with a visit, so we can check the slope, the soil, the sun and how a truck reaches the yard.
  • The estimate is in writing. It lists square footage, prep, seed mix, mulch rate and any blankets or silt fence, so you can compare it line by line.
  • Prep comes before seed. We remove stones and debris, fix low spots and set grade away from the house before anything is sprayed.
  • The mix fits the spot. Sunny, shady, high-traffic and steep areas get different seed and mulch rates.
  • We protect what is around the work. Siding, walks, driveways and plantings are masked or rinsed, and slurry stays out of storm drains.
  • You get the aftercare plan. Watering, first mow and what to expect in the first month, written down and left with you.

Phone (401) 271-4843 or fill in the estimate request, and we will pick a day to walk the property with you.
